Henry Bibby Bio

Coach Henry Bibby is a former professional basketball player. As a starting point guard with the UCLA Bruins he won three straight NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championships in 1970, 1971 and 1972 under head coach John Wooden. He went onto the NBA to win an NBA championship in his rookie year with the New York Knicks, then on to play with the Philadelphia 76ers with famed players Doctor J (Julius Erving), Darrell Dawkins, Maurice Cheeks, and more. His brother, Jim Bibby, was a Major League Baseball pitcher with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Texas Rangers, and his son, Mike Bibby, is a retired point guard, Sacramento Kings. Coach Bibby was the head coach of the USC Trojans basketball team for 9 years. He went on to become the head coach of the WNBA Sparks, and has held assistant coaching positions with the Memphis Grizzlies, Detroit Pistons, and Philadelpha 76ers.

Henry Bibby notably sets the record as the only member of an NCAA (1970, 1971, 1972 UCLA Bruins), an NBA (1973 New York Knicks), and a CBA (1982 Lancaster Lightning; 1989 Tulsa Fast Breakers) championship team.

Coach Bibby is an inventor and entrepreneur, having patented the 3 in 1 DribblePro Training Basketball licensed by Spalding. He is now head coach of the CIBACOPA professional basketball league in Mexico.
